Since graduating from the University of Bath in the UK, Robert has directed and developed international ski and snowboard programmes as well as summer camps and school outdoor education programmes for 15 years. His wide-ranging experience extends from directing a summer camp in the Ardèche, France, to leading trekking tours in Nepal, and he has travelled extensively throughout Western Europe, India, Nepal, Mexico, the Caribbean, Canada and the USA. Living and working in Anzère, Switzerland, Robert enjoys the mountain environment year-round, but travels extensively to meet party leaders and parents at schools throughout the world.
After finishing his studies in political science and anthropology at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, Joe travelled to Europe where he could use his ski teaching experience. A qualified dive instructor and yacht master, Joe brings 15 years experience of directing camps and activity programmes to Viamonde and having travelled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Central America and Australia, has an important appreciation of different cultures. Living in Leysin, Switzerland, with his wife, son and daughter, Joe enjoys all the Swiss Alps has to offer and is responsible for all aspects of our operations, including risk assessments, staff training and programme development.
Laura completed an honours degree in marketing and French at Stirling University, Scotland and joined us with an extensive knowledge of skiing and snowboarding instruction and management skills. With a love of skiing and outdoor pursuits from an early age, Laura brings more than 6 years experience working and managing international outdoor education camps, summer camps and ski programmes in France, Switzerland and Canada. Laura liaises with every party leader to prepare for their programme and manages all aspects of our operations, staff training and programme development.
Anthony has been working with children in the outdoors for 22 years. Part of this time has also been spent gaining a masters degree in Outdoor Education from Edinburgh University, working in international schools in Taiwan and Indonesia and travelling to over 20 different countries. Since working as a ski camp counsellor in 1985, Anthony has spent almost every winter teaching skiing and teaching others to teach. During Spring and Autumn he directs outdoor programmes for international schools in Switzerland and in 2000 he and his wife Helen opened their own ski lodge in British Columbia. Anthony manages all of our Canadian operations and liaises with party leaders travelling to these resorts to help them prepare for their programme.
Adam began his ski and snowboarding career in Quebec, Canada. After quickly advancing through Canadian certification and obtaining a directors position, Adam set his goals to teach at a more international level in the Swiss Alps. As well as his extensive ski and snowboard teaching experience, Adam brings creativity and enthusiasm to Viamonde. Adam is responsible for our Anzère operations and plays an important role in training our ski and snowboard counsellors.
